Pep Guardiola: No get-out clause

Incoming Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola says he is already planning transfer moves at The Etihad.

Guardiola has agreed a three-year contract with City, but he will not take over the reins until the summer when Manuel Pellegrini’s contract expires.

Asked if plans for City was clashing with his responsibilities at treble-chasing Bayern Munich, he said: “I am like a woman, I can multi-task, I can control both situations.

“It’s not a problem, I have a big talent for this.”

German legend Lothar Matthaus last month voiced his fears about Guardiola’s squad planning and claimed Bayern were heading for a difficult five months until the end of the season.

And Guardiola was in a fiesty mood as he appeared to lose patience with the German media appeared at his press conference on Friday.

“I don’t know why managers even give press conferences anymore,” said Guardiola.

“Managers don’t get any respect anymore. It doesn’t matter what we say.

“Why don’t you write about the wonderful words I say to my players before games?”
