Naby Keita wants Liverpool exit, as Klopp homes in on £50m replacement
Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita is reportedly looking to leave Anfield and a number of clubs are interested in taking the Guinea international.
MilanLive report that Keita is “ready to leave Liverpool” presumably due to his lack of action this season.
The 25-year-old was a €65million signing from RB Leipzig in 2017 before joining the Reds 12 months later but his performances, in the large part, have not matched the hype.
Keita has made just nine appearances in the Premier League all season and AC Milan are believed to be watching his situation closely.
He has been a major disappointment and is down the pecking order with Jordan Henderson, Fabinho and Georginio Wijnaldum the preferred midfield starters. Two goals and one assist from 20 outings this season illustrate his struggles.
SempreMilan suggest that Milan have looked at Keita previously and, as per the source, Liverpool could be inclined to let Keita depart as they are stepping up their attempts to land Wolves star Ruben Neves.
Neves has been linked with Liverpool over the last 12 months with The Sun claiming earlier this week that Jurgen Klopp was losing patience with Keita.
KLOPP GOING FOR NEVES
The paper claims Klopp plans to freshen things up in the centre of the field with an opening £50million bid for Neves.
Per the Italian source, Keita is apparently looking to relaunch his career in the Bundesliga, while Keita is certainly a profile that Ralf Rangnick knows very well.
Rangnick is head of football at Red Bull and worked with the player during his spells at both Red Bull Salzburg and Leipzig.
