Asking price puts off other rival for signing of Tottenham strike target

Alfred Ndiaye, Arkadiusz Milik

Tottenham will have to pay €15m if they still want to sign Arkadiusz Milik from Napoli in January, it is claimed.

Milik has not played at all for Napoli this season after being left out of their squad list. He is out of contract at the end of the campaign.

Given his exclusion from the squad, he is extremely unlikely to stay at the club. The striker could even be on the move six months before the expiration of his contract.

Reports have linked Tottenham with a move for the Poland international. Spurs are looking for more depth in the attacking positions.

Carlos Vinicius joined the club on loan from Benfica in the summer, but hasn’t hit the ground running in the Premier League despite some promising performances in Europe. In fact, he is still yet to start a league game in England.

Therefore, Tottenham may be considering some longer-term solutions. Milik is a player they have been tracking for some time.

Even though Napoli risk losing him for nothing in six months, they have still set a fairly high asking price to sanction his departure.

According to RMC Sport, the Serie A side want €15m to allow Milik to leave this month. That could dissuade a number of suitors.

Marseille cool interest

For example, Marseille want to take the centre-forward to France. However, they initially wanted a loan deal, which would not be possible.

In fact, Napoli’s high demands have forced Marseille to put their pursuit on hold. They will only be able to afford him if they can sell some players first.

Atletico Madrid are also mentioned as another suitor for the 26-year-old. The Spanish club are looking for a replacement for Diego Costa, whom they have just released.

Milik could fill that role, but there will likely be many contenders for his signature. The report does not specify if Tottenham will reignite their pursuit before the winter window closes.
