Newcastle United are bracing themselves for bids for star forward Ayoze Perez.
Perez, 24, has been at Newcastle since 2014, but his impressive end-of-season form has attracted Napoli and Real Sociedad, according to Mundo Deportivo.
Newcastle’s top scorer last season, Perez was a key man as the Magpies finished 10th in their first season back in the Premier League.
However, foreign clubs are on his trail, with Real Sociedad director of football Roberto Olabe believing his club could build a side around Perez – and teammate Mikel Merino.
A move to the Basque Country would give ex-Spain Under-21 international Perez the chance to play in his homeland’s top tier for the first time, but the forward is happy in Newcastle for the time being.
Rafael Benitez is also keen to keep hold of his compatriot, with Mundo Deportivo stating that the manager sees Perez as “essential” to his plans.
Perez is valued at upwards of £18m, and is also admired by Real Betis.
