Napoli midfielder Jorginho is reportedly emerging as a top transfer target for Arsenal and could join the Gunners in January.
Arsene Wenger’s men are said to want to push through a deal for the 25-year-old in the New Year but they are prepared to wait until the summer to get their man.
The playmaker, who is closing in on a debut for the senior Brazil side, has been at Napoli since joining from Hellas Verona in January 2014.
Jorginho’s current contract runs out in 2020 and according to the report on Tuttomercato, it is highly unlikely that Napoli will even think of a sale until at least next summer.
That news will not concern Wenger too much, despite the likelihood that Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez will both leave the club in 2018, as both players could see out their contracts and leave for free in the summer when the Gunners boss can then start his rebuilding programme.
