Arsenal will be announcing that a defender has signed for the club ahead of the January transfer window very soon, according to a report.
The club has already agreed a deal worth £900,000 for Omar Rekik of Hertha Berlin during the last transfer window.
However, the move, which was part of Matteo Guendouzi’s loan switch to the German outfit, failed to get over the line in time on deadline day.
Now, Todofichajes says that his arrival is just hours away from being announced.
There is much anticipation over the move after Rekik recently posted a photo on social media of him on a London-bound plane.
The 18-year-old is expected to be sent out on loan straight away, being seen as one for the future.
However, Mikel Arteta is due to assess what level the hot prospect is at before making a final decision.
Rekik has already been at the youth set-ups at Manchester City, PSV and Marseille.
The centre-half has not made a single senior appearance for Hertha Berlin this season, likely because of his pending move to the Emirates.
He would become the first January signing for Arsenal should the transfer be finalised.
Eriksen to return to North London?
Meanwhile, Arsenal are looking at bringing another player into the club next month.
The Gunners are reportedly considering a move for former Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen.
The Dane has fallen out of favour with Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte. As a result, the midfielder is expected to move in January.
Inter have come to the terms with the fact he is likely to leave only on a temporary basis.
Arsenal, therefore, are said to be ‘seriously’ considering a move for the playmaker.
