New Chelsea signings Andrey Santos and David Datro Fofana have revealed their excitement after their moves were both officially sealed by the Blues.

Brazilian midfielder Santos, 18, has joined from Vasco da Gama for a reported £18million, while 20-year-old Ivory Coast attacker Fofana has sealed a £10m switch from Norwegian club Molde and has signed a six-year deal.

That makes three signings for Chelsea in the January window so far following the arrival of Benoit Badiashile from Monaco.

Santos, who made 38 appearances for Rio-based Vasco de Gama, told the club’s official website: “It’s a very big opportunity for me.

“This is a big club playing in big competitions like the Premier League so I am very excited. The players here are so good and I am very happy to be here.”

As for Fofana, who notched 24 goals in 65 appearances for Molde, added: “Hello dear fans, I’m here, I’ve arrived well and I’m very happy to sign for the club of my dreams. I’ll see you soon on the pitch, cheers!”

Graham Potter’s men are also hopeful of completing a deal for Benfica’s World Cup winner Enzo Fernandez, although the Argentine midfielder could end up costing more than £100m.

More Chelsea signings on the way

The Blues spent almost £250m on new additions when Thomas Tuchel was in charge in the summer. And it appears that Todd Boehly is not stopping there as he looks to revamp an a slightly aging squad.

Ukraine winger Mykhailo Mudryk is another player on their radar. And it looks like the Shakhtar Donetsk star could be Stamford Bridge bound given that Arsenal, who are his first choice, have seemingly cooled their interest.

The Blues are in are massive need of something to spark their season, with Potter’s men sitting 10th in the table.

They are currently 10 points outside the top four spots but a strong second half of the campaign could see them break into the Champions League spots.

Fresh from their defeat on Thursday night, Chelsea face Manchester City again on Sunday. However, this time it’s in the FA Cup third round as both clubs look to reach round four.
