Newcastle battle West Ham, Leicester as Juve opt to sell €20m midfielder

Juventus are prepared to sell Newcastle and West Ham target Stefano Sturaro this summer, according to reports in Italy.

Turin-based paper Tuttosport reports that the versatile midfielder will be allowed to leave the Italian champions in the current transfer window, as he searches for more regular game time.

According to the report, Premier League pair Newcastle and West Ham have already made offers for the 25-year-old Italian. Juventus are hoping to claim €20m for the former Genoa man, who has been capped four times by Italy.

Sturaro joined Juventus in 2014, but has been a bit-part player, making just 11 starts in all competitions last season. He played a further eight times from the bench as Juventus won the domestic double.

With Juve expected to spend big this summer – with Premier League-linked Russia star Aleksandr Golovin a major target – they need to offload some players to balance the books, and Sturaro is one of those set for an exit.

According to Calciomercato, a third English club are in the battle to sign Sturaro, as Leicester City are also interested.
