Newcastle United have reportedly drawn up a two-man winger shortlist comprising of two players who could be looking to return to English football.
Wide areas have been a problem for Steve Bruce’s side this season, with none of his wingers managing to score more than once in the Premier League.
He could be looking to rectify that in the January transfer window, and according to Eurosport, has former Liverpool and Fulham forward Ryan Babel in his sights.
Galatasaray are prepared to allow the Dutchman, 33, to leave this month, although Newcastle – who had been interested in him during Rafael Benitez’s time in charge – will face competition from Ajax for his signature.
At the other end of the age spectrum, Bruce could bring Ademola Lookman back to his home country after an indifferent spell with RB Leipzig.
The 22-year-old joined the German side on a permanent basis in the summer after a successful half a season on loan there, but his hopes for more minutes than he managed at Everton have not been realised.
According to the Daily Mail, Newcastle are interested in offering him a Premier League return via a loan with an option to buy – and believe they can promise him regular first team football.
