Fulham will have to pay Newcastle United £18m to land Aleksandar Mitrovic on a permanent basis.
Mitrovic completed a loan switch to Craven Cottage in January and helped the team win promotion to the Premier League.
After he scored 12 goals in the end-of-season run in, Newcastle will want a high fee for the striker, who will represent Serbia at the World Cup.
Mitrovic has said he is willing to join the Cottagers permanently.
Fulham captain Tom Cairney, scorer of the winning goal in the play-off final, urged his club to sign the Serb outright.
“We have got to try and sign him,” he said to the Evening Standard. “He is a Premier League centre-forward.”
“I think he loves it here and he loves the manager.”
The Daily Star claims that Newcastle want at least £18m for Mitrovic, a price which could rise depending on his performances at the World Cup.
The 23-year-old has 35 international caps.
