Newcastle to battle Prem duo for £20m Fulham star

Newcastle will battle West Ham and Watford in the race to sign a £20m-rated Fulham man this summer, a report claims.

According to the Mirror, the Magpies will battle their Premier League rivals for Tom Cairney at the end of the current campaign.

Cairney is reportedly free to leave Fulham for £20million should they fail to attain promotion to the Premier League this season.

The 27-year-old was the subject of interest in January, but Fulham apparently rejected an £18m offer from the Hammers.

However, the Scotland international – who opened the scoring in Fulham’s 2-2 draw with neighbours QPR on Saturday – will be allowed to choose his club this summer, should they stay in the Championship.

The Cottagers are also braced for offers for wide duo Ryan Sessegnon and Ryan Fredericks, with the former said to be attracting interest from some of England’s top clubs.
