Neymar could perform an extraordinary U-turn and stay at PSG, despite the French champions reportedly receiving a fourth bid from Barcelona.
The Brazilian forward has been desperate to return to La Liga all summer, with PSG making no secrets of the fact that both parties were looking to separate.
Despite the will of both the player and club to part company, neither Barcelona nor Real Madrid have been able to present a bid they consider acceptable, having splashed out a world record €222m on him in 2017.
According to Telefoot, Barcelona’s response has been to add more players into their offer as an incentive, with Ousmane Dembele being inserted into their latest bid.
Dembele previously thrived under PSG coach Thomas Tuchel at Borussia Dortmund, but the source claims he wants to stay at Barcelona.
Therefore, the French outlet reveals that the possibility of Neymar staying in France is increasing, with the 27-year-old now opening up to the idea of remaining with the club for one more year.
He has played no part for them so far this season, and has already drawn the wrath of their fans due to the public nature of the transfer saga, but he could now in fact return to the fold – something Telefoot point out would have been “unthinkable” just days ago.
Earlier, Sunday’s papers had suggested that PSG would target Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha in a £100m deal if they did sell Neymar this summer.
