N’Guessan leaves Port Vale

N’Guessan, who signed for the Valiants in October before extending his deal in December until the end of the season, is understood to be moving to a club abroad.

The 27-year-old made 12 appearances for Rob Page’s team but had not featured since he was substituted at half-time in the defeat at Chesterfield on January 10.

“Dany has been a top professional throughout his time at the club,” said Vale boss Page. “We would like to thank him for all of his hard work and I know that everyone here wishes him the best of luck for the future.”

Valiants chairman Norman Smurthwaite added: “When Dany joined Port Vale it was agreed that if he received a more lucrative offer from elsewhere, and subject to us agreeing terms, he would be allowed to leave and I am a man of my word.”

N’Guessan’s departure increases Vale’s need to bring in a forward. They are short of numbers because Louis Dodds has broken his toe, Achille Campion has bruised ribs and Ben Williamson has a suspected hamstring injury.
