The short-term future of Eddie Nketiah is set to be decided today with a trio of Championship clubs chasing his signature, but BBC commentator Guy Mowbray may have let slip where the forward will wind up.
It now appears that the latter of those three clubs could have assumed pole position in the race after comments made by BBC commentator Guy Mowbray.
Speaking during the live broadcast of the Arsenal versus Leeds United FA Cup third round tie, Mowabray let slip: “He might go on loan to Bristol City, we understand, next.”
The Robins were reportedly interested in the 20-year-old in the summer, but lost out to Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United.
Despite managing just two starts in his five months with the Yorkshire club, the forward returned an impressive five goals in all competitions in just 663 minutes of game-time.
That impressive strike-rate could be just the tonic Bristol City need to reignite their promotion push after suffering five defeats in their last six Championship encounters.
