No Murphy for Leeds as Sharp exit nears

Sharp has been linked with a return to Bramall Lane ever since the appointment of Nigel Adkins as Blades manager, and reports from both Sheffield and Leeds suggest the two clubs are now close to agreeing a fee for the 29-year-old.

The only sticking point appears to be covering the wages of Sharp, who has a year remaining on his contract at Elland Road but is unlikely to have his terms matched by the League One Blades. Leeds, however, are reluctant to make up the difference for the next 12 months, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

Sharp joined Leeds for £600,000 from Southampton last summer but failed to nail down a regular starting spot and is well down Uwe Rosler’s pecking order.

A deal taking Sharp to Sheffield United will not involve Jamie Murphy, it is reported.
