Wolves manager Nuno Espírito Santo hailed his side as a “great squad who can do great things” following their 2-1 win over Liverpool in the FA Cup.
He said: “I am very pleased, the team performed very well in a tough game. We took our chances.
“It was a very good game for us. I think we did well against a very good team. We want to play that way every game but sometimes it is difficult but we showed again we are a great squad who can do great things.”
Santo then went on to praise Ruben Neves whose spectacular finish clinched the team’s first FA Cup home win since 2011.
“He has talent, he has done it before and we encourage him to shoot from range. It was a good strike and the fans were very special.
“It was almost going to be a nervy ending when you are a goal up and you have to defend but we stood tall and strong and it is a hell of a victory for everyone.”
“Liverpool are a fantastic club but we had a game plan and played the way we wanted to with the identity we wanted to show. It was pleasing for everyone.”
The Portuguese manager didn’t give much away when asked about the next round of the competition saying: “The draw is the draw, next we have Manchester City so we are focused on that.”
Wolves will travel to either Shrewsbury or Stoke in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
