Ornstein reveals staggering Bellingham price tag as Liverpool, Man City, Man Utd prepare for bidding war

Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham

Reliable journalist David Ornstein has revealed in-demand Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham’s summer price tag, with multiple clubs vying for his signature.

The England international has been heavily linked to the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City in recent weeks. Now, Ornstein has shared which clubs are the most likely to pen a deal.

Bellingham, as expected, will command a British record sum, but with the 19-year-old considered one of the best young players in the world, he could prove to be a fantastic long-term investment.

On Tuesday, TEAMtalk exclusively revealed that the Dortmund wonderkid is ‘willing’ to join Liverpool over Manchester City, but the Reds will have other competition to contend with this summer.

Bellingham has proven his quality time and time again in the Bundesliga. Since joining Dortmund from Birmingham City in 2020, the midfielder has featured 119 times across all competitions, scoring 20 goals and making 24 assists.

The youngster has also captained the German giants on multiple occasions, showing he has the mentality, leadership attributes and quality to succeed at the highest level.

Bellingham was also a key player for England during the World Cup last year, making five appearances under Gareth Southgate, scoring one goal and assisting another.

He looks set to become a potential Ballon d’Or contender in the future, so it’s unsurprising to see so many teams pushing to sign him for next season.

Liverpool, Man City, Man Utd, Madrid all want Bellingham

Now, Ornstein has revealed the clubs most likely to sign Bellingham, as well as his likely price tag.

On Twitter, he said: “Clubs lining up for Jude Bellingham. Liverpool, Man City, Man Utd, Real Madrid likely to be primary contenders if 19yo exits Dortmund.

“Price expected to be ~€150m but currently many factors + little certainty.”

Indeed, it comes as no real surprise that the Premier League quartet are pushing hard for the Englishman, while Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelloti is known to be a big fan of the youngster.

However, his staggering €150m (approx. £132.4m) valuation could potentially prove to be an issue for both Liverpool and Manchester City.

With the Reds currently in a disappointing eighth place in the table, it looks unlikely that they will qualify for the Champions League next season, which could negatively impact their spending power.

On the other hand, City are currently facing charges mounted by the Premier League for alleged finacial breaches, with one of the potential ramifications being a transfer ban.

With that in mind, they are by no means out of the race, but this will offer some hope to United and Madrid that they can hijack their pursuit of Bellingham.

The youngster arguably has the quality to greatly improve all four team’s chances of winning trophies in the future, so it will be interesting to see if they are willing to meet Dortmund’s hefty price tag.
