Paper Talk: £50m Man Utd defensive target set for medical this week

Manchester United appear to have made a massive breakthrough in their bid to land a new £50m right-back, while Unai Emery wants to sign a £55m attacker, according to Monday’s papers.

UNITED FINALLY SET TO GET THEIR MAN

Manchester United are reportedly preparing for Aaron Wan-Bissaka to have his medical at the club this week ahead of a summer transfer.

United are closing in on a deal to sign the Crystal Palace defender ahead of their pre-season tour of Australasia, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer keen to make him his second summer signing after the arrival of winger Daniel James from Swansea.

The right-back is keen on a move to Old Trafford this summer and all that remains now is for terms to be agreed between the Premier League rivals for his services.

Football Insider suggests that the 21-year-old could well have his medical in the coming days, following a ‘breakthrough in talks’.

Palace have previously turned down any United offers for Wan-Bissaka but it would appear that a bid of around £50m has done the trick for a United side that are looking to bounce back next season after a hugely disappointing 2018-19 campaign.
