Paper Talk: £60m Man Utd arrival to spark Martial exit
Manchester United striker Anthony Martial can leave the club on one condition, while Leeds are closing in on an £11million Derby attacker, according to Friday’s papers.
MARTIAL CAN LEAVE UNITED ON ONE CONDITION
Manchester United are willing to allow Anthony Martial to leave – but only after they have signed Inter Milan forward Ivan Perisic as his replacement, according to reports.
Martial left United’s pre-season tour of the US to attend the birth of his second child and is said to have been given the green light to quit Old Trafford by Jose Mourinho.
The Red Devils want at least £70million for the 22-year-old, who is wanted by Chelsea, Tottenham, PSG and Bayern Munich, but they will only sell on their terms – according to the report in the Daily Mirror.
And those terms include landing long-term target Perisic to offset the loss of the Frenchman.
Mourinho tried to bring in Perisic last summer for £40m but after an impressive showing at the World Cup, the Croatian’s fee has now risen to nearer the £60m mark.
Martial is desperate to quit Old Trafford, after being pushed down the pecking order by the arrival of Alexis Sanchez in January, but if his exit is dependent on the arrival of Perisic then United could get an even bigger surprise if they try and land the 29-year-old.
