AC Milan and PSG are ready to move for a wantaway Tottenham defender, while two key Arsenal stars are set to be handed new contracts, all in Sunday’s papers.
PSG, MILAN TARGET WANTAWAY SPURS STAR
Tottenham defender Serge Aurier wants to leave the club, with AC Milan and former club PSG both reportedly interested in signing the 26-year-old Ivory Coast international.
The 26-year-old has largely disappointed in his two years in north London since a £23million move from PSG, starting only 22 Premier League matches.
He was also an unused substitute in May’s Champions League final defeat against Liverpool.
The defender has made it clear to team-mates that he would welcome a chance for a fresh start, according to a report in the Mail on Sunday, although that would Mauricio Pochettino short on right-back options.
Kieran Trippier was sold to Atletico Madrid over the summer, leaving Kyle Walker-Peters and Juan Foyth as the club’s only two recognised right-backs, although the latter is out until September through injury.
Aurier’s suitors have until September 2 to complete a deal, with his last club appearance coming against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League back in March – although he was on the bench for Saturday’s 3-1 win over Aston Villa.
