Arsenal look set to miss out to Bayern Munich in the race to sign a Lille attacker, while Real Madrid have stepped up their interest in a Man City star  – all in Thursday’s papers.

 

BAYERN SET TO BEAT ARSENAL TO LILLE STAR

Arsenal look set to pipped by Bayern Munich to the signing of Lille star Nicholas Pepe, according to reports.

Pepe has attracted interest from a number of top clubs following his impressive start to the season with the French outfit, scoring six times in nine league outings.

And the report in the Daily Express claims that Gunners boss Unai Emery was very keen on landing the 23-year-old, attacker, despite Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette striking up an impressive partnership early in the season.

However, German paper Sport Bild claims that Bayern have already scheduled talks with the player over a January switch to the Bundesliga.

The report suggests that a fee of around £30million is expected for a player who is still under contract until 2022.
