Arsenal are closing on a £52m double deal, while a Crystal Palace star could make a shock move to Borussia Dortmund, according to Saturday’s newspapers.
ARSENAL CLOSING IN ON MIDFIELD DUO
Arsenal are poised to announce the £52million double signings of two midfielders next week, according to reports.
The Gunners are believed to have agreed a fee of €30m to sign Lucas Torreira from Sampdoria, who caught the eye during Uruguay’s run to the World Cup quarter-finals.
Torreira is likely to arrive at Arsenal next week to complete the formalities of the deal, with personal terms not expected to be a problem.
And the Uruguayan is likely to be joined in the middle of the park with Sevilla’s all-action maestro Steven N’Zonzi, with the Daily Express reporting that talks between the two clubs have resumed.
Arsenal are likely to have to pay around €30million (£26m) for the 29-year-old, who worked under Unai Emery at the Andalusian club.
It’s claimed Sevilla are looking to sign Jean-Michael Seri from Nice as his replacement and will sanction the France midfielder’s sale just as soon as the capture of the Nice star goes through.
Arsenal’s midfield has been outlined as one of the Gunners’ key weaknesses by Emery and director of football Sven Mislintat and it will hope the arrival of the two will give their side more steel in the centre of the park next season.
