N'Golo Kante: Offered a new contract

Arsenal have set their sights on signing a Manchester United midfielder, Chelsea have lodged a British record bid for Sergio Ramos and N’Golo Kante’s buy-out is revealed.

Arsenal are looking to sign Michael Carrick on a free transfer in the summer, according to reports on Thursday.

Carrick, 34, has been at Old Trafford almost a decade and has featured more than 400 times in all competitions, but his contract is up in the summer and United have not made any moves to extend his deal.

According to Transfermarketweb, that has alerted Arsenal, who look set to lose Mikel Arteta, Mathieu Flamini and Tomas Rosicky in the summer.

West Ham and Everton are also believed to be keen to take the former England playmaker, who signed for United from Tottenham in 2006 for £14million.

Meanwhile, Arsenal also could sign Inter Milan’s Croatian midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, who is on a long-term loan.

The 23-year-old is on loan at the Italian club from Dinamo Zagreb, but the Gunners are eyeing up a £15million summer move, according to Tuttosport.

Chelsea have made a British record £63.5million bid for 30-year-old Real Madrid and Spain defender Sergio Ramos, according to Don Balon.

The Spanish site, not renowned for their reliable sources, believe the defender could join the Blues as a replacement for John Terry, but even they must acknowledge they have jumped the gun on this link.

The 30-year-old Ramos is understood to be high on Antonio Conte’s list of targets as he prepares to take over the reigns in west London after Euro 2016.

Ramos almost joined Manchester United last summer before claiming he never intended to leave the Bernabeu, but reports of a bid being lodged by Chelsea seem way of the mark.

N’Golo Kante has a £20million buy-out clause in his Leicester contract, according to the Mail.

Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs are alll rumoured to be circling for the player, who was yesterday named on the shortlist for the Player of the Year award.

Kante, 25, signed for the Foxes from Caen for £5.6 million last summer and at the time a £20million release clause seemed adequate, but such has been the form of the midfield enforcer that his value has rocketed.

The bargain price could also attract Paris Saint-Germain into making a bid for a player who looks set to represent France at Euro 2016.
