Paper Talk: Barcelona to return in January for Man Utd pair
Barcelona set their sights on two Man Utd midfielders and there’s mutiny talk at Tottenham in relation to Harry Kane’s new deal, all in the papers.
BARCA MOVE IN ON MAN UTD DUO
Barcelona are ready to try and lure Manchester United star Ander Herrera again in January, according to The Sun.
Barca apparently failed to land the Spaniard in the summer and with uncertainty surrounding a new deal at Old Trafford, the Catalan giants are aiming to swoop for him on a pre-contract agreement in January.
Herrera, 29, is out of contract next summer and has held talks on a new two-year deal but as yet there has been nothing signed.
The tabloid quote an ‘Old Trafford source’, who says: “There has been interest in Ander before and will be again in January.
“It was assumed everything would be boxed off by now but that doesn’t look to be the case. We’ll have to wait and see.”
Meanwhile, his Manchester Unitedteam-mate Paul Pogba, 25, was watched by Barcelona scouts during their Champions League win over Young Boys.
Mundo Deportivo report that United are keeping close tabs on the World Cup winner and his relationship with Jose Mourinho.
Pogba was not the only midfielder they watched this week though. Ajax star Frenkie De Jong and PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot were also scouted this week, per the Spanish source.
