Paper Talk: Big guns chase Spurs’ young strike sensation

Juventus are just one of the teams chasing young Spurs star Troy Parrott, David De Gea has signed a new deal and two Man Utd targets look set to nail down their futures, all in the papers.

Tottenham and Republic of Ireland Under-21s forward Troy Parrott is a target for Juventus, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, claims a report.

Calciomercato report that Maurizio Sarri’s Juventus are tracking the 17-year-old, but they will have competition from Real and Bayern

Parrott enjoyed a week to remember. The academy prospect scored three times for Republic of Ireland Under-21s and was named in Spurs’ Champions League squad.

Mauricio Pochettino said: “I think he needs time, we need to be relaxed. We cannot put his name in the spotlight every day because we’re not going to help him by doing that.

“He’s still so young. The best way to help him is to be calm and relaxed about him. If he’s going to be involved, perfect. If he’s going to be involved with the Under-23s instead, perfect.

“Sometimes he’ll train with us, good. Now it’s a process where he needs to be relaxed. If we put too much pressure we’re going to force or push him to make a mistake and that’s what we don’t want.”
