Paper Talk: Cavani to Man Utd, Pedro to leave Chelsea?

Manchester United are reported to be considering a bid for Edinson Cavani, while Pedro is apparently looking to leave Chelsea.

Manchester United are contemplating an official bid for Paris Saint-Germain’s Edinson Cavani, according to ESPN, with the Uruguay striker apparently ‘extremely keen’ on a move to Old Trafford.

Cavani’s representatives initiated the contact with United, it is said, and there is an increasing feeling at the club that the 28-year-old could provide a solution to their striking problems.

United apparently considered a move for Cavani in 2013 when David Moyes was in charge, but PSG have previously been reluctant to sell. However, they could be open to removing him from their wage bill to help finance their own transfer business in the summer.

Pedro is looking for a way out of Chelsea after just five months at the club, claim the Daily Star.

Pedro has scored only three goals in 24 games for the Blues since his summer move from Barcelona and was hauled off at half-time by Guus Hiddink in the recent draw against West Brom before again being substituted against Everton last weekend.

Hiddink is not keen to lose the 28-year-old in this transfer window, it is said, but Chelsea are apparently willing to let him leave at the end of the season, with Valencia and Villarreal possible destinations.

The Blues, meanwhile, are widely reported to have agreed terms with Alexandre Pato on a three-year contract, worth about £35,000 a week after tax according to The Times. They now need to inalise a deal with Corinthians.
