Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is ready to deliver a major managerial snub to Chelsea, while Lionel Messi has made a major vow over his future, according to Wednesday’s newspapers.
POCHETTINO TO SNUB CHELSEA FOR SPURS STAY
Mauricio Pochettino will reportedly snub Chelsea’s advances this summer and stay loyal to Tottenham.
Reports on Tuesday claimed that the Blues wanted the Spurs chief to make the shock move across London and take over from Antonio Conte.
The Italian will almost certainly be shown the door at Stamford Bridge after Saturday’s FA Cup final against Manchester United and Pochettino was one of the leading candidates to replace him.
However, the Daily Star claims that the Argentine will be backed in the transfer market by Tottenham supremo Daniel Levy this summer, despite the club moving to their expensive new stadium.
Pochettino had been concerned that the move might hinder his chances of strengthening his squad, something he has stated as being critical if they want to challenge the two Manchester clubs at the top of the Premier League.
But the 46-year-old, who has also been linked with the Real Madrid job, will be given major funds and is also likely to sign a new and improved contract as Tottenham embark on a new challenge in their plush new home.
