Paper Talk: Shock Rafa Benitez link; duo fighting for Inter hitman

Chelsea and Real Madrid have made contact with a prolific Inter Milan striker, while Rafa Benitez is being linked with a shock move to another Premier League club, according to Friday’s papers.



Chelsea and Real Madrid reportedly have reached out to Inter Milan about Mauro Icardi after he was stripped of the club captaincy.

The Argentine star has been heavily linked with a move away from the San Siro after demanding his side publicly apologise to him for stripping him of the captaincy.

The Serie A giants remain adamant, however, they do not want to sell the attacker – who has also been linked with an incredible swap deal with Juventus star Paulo Dybala.

However, Chelsea, Madrid, and Napoli have now joined the Serie A champions in contacting Icardi over a summer transfer move, according to Sport Mediaset.

Icardi’s future remains up in the air after Inter replaced him as captain with goalkeeper Samir Handanovic and dropped him from the first-team squad.

The Argentine. who has scored 122 goals in 210 games for the club, is convinced that Inter having already decided to offload him in the summer – prompting all the talk of a summer bidding war.
