Paper Talk: Arsenal target Italy star; Man Utd will pay £79m for Brazilian

Chelsea are targeting an ambitious swap deal with Inter Milan, while Arsenal are chasing a Roma midfielder, all in the papers.

CHELSEA CHASE ICARDI SWAP DEAL

Two separate sources in Italy and Spain are reporting that Chelsea are planning to offer Alvaro Morata plus €40million to sign Inter centre-forward Mauro Icardi.

Morata has been spotted in Milan this week, along with his agent and Juventus director of sport Fabio Paratici.

Chelsea are understood to be ready to offload the Spain striker, whose debut season failed to live up to expectation. The 25-year-old was plagued by aback problem and managed just 15 goals in all competitions and now Cadena Ser and Il Messaggero newspaper report Morata could be heading to Inter.

It’s reported Chelsea are all set to offer Morata plus €35-40m in order to get Icardi to Stamford Bridge.

Argentinian Icardi has blasted 29 Serie A goals this term, but he missed out on the World Cup squad and there has been speculation about his future in the last six months.

There is believed to be a release clause in his contract worth €110million, but that is only valid up until July 15.
