Paper Talk: Chelsea to seal shock £70m deal for Liverpool target

Chelsea are hoping to tie up a surprise £70m swoop for a long-term Liverpool target, while Andrea Radrizzani has made his Leeds players a promotion promise, according to Saturday’s newspapers.

Chelsea are set to sign Borussia Dortmund winger Christian Pulisic – and will push for the deal to be concluded in January, according to multiple reports on Saturday.

The 20-year-old winger has so far been unable to agree a new deal with the Bundesliga giants and are said to be willing to sell the player at the end of the season should the situation not change.

And according to the Daily Mirror, Chelsea have already been in contact with the Bundesliga leaders over a potential £70m deal for the exciting USA star.

Furthermore, they claim Chelsea will ask Dortmund if they will allow the deal to happen in January, with reports in Germany suggesting he could remain with Lucien Favre’s side for the rest of the season.

News of Pulisic’s impending move to Stamford Bridge will come as a serious blow for Liverpool, whose manager Jurgen Klopp saw a £12m bid rejected for the player back in 2016 and has kept a watchful eye on him ever since.

The USA star, who caught the eye during his side’s 3-0 defeat to England at Wembley on Thursday, has also been linked with Tottenham in the past.
