Paper Talk: Chelsea target huge name to replace Sarri; £175m Liverpool raid

Maurizio Sarri Jose Mourinho TEAMtalk

Chelsea want arguably football’s biggest-name manager to replace Maurizio Sarri, while reports of a £175m summer offer to Liverpool for Mohamed Salah are gathering pace, according to Wednesday’s papers.

CHELSEA TARGET ZIDANE APPOINTMENT

Chelsea want Zinedine Zidane as their next manager, according to reports on Wednesday.

With Maurizio Sarri admitting that he’s struggling to motivate his players after Sunday’s unacceptable 6-0 defeat at Manchester City, The Sun claims in an exclusive that Chelsea are already looking at alternatives.

And according to the red top, Blues owner Roman Abramovich has set his sights on one of the very best, with the club targeting former Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane.

The 46-year-old three-times Champions League winning coach is currently not in management and is understood to be very keen on a job in the Premier League.

And a move to Stamford Bridge could be just the order – with Chelsea also hoping the appointment of his idol will help the Blues keep star man Eden Hazard from Real Madrid’s clutches.

Sarri was unbeaten in his first 12 games as Chelsea manager and has taken the Blues to the Carabao Cup final. But their Premier League struggles are causing alarm and his admission that he’s struggling to motivate his players has him reportedly clinging to his job by his fingernails.
