Paper Talk: €60m Liverpool target makes demands over transfer

A top Liverpool attacking target has demanded assurances over a summer move to Anfield, while Tottenham are ready to pay £72m for a Leicester star, according to Saturday’s papers.

LIVERPOOL TARGET WANTS TRANSFER GUARANTEES

Liverpool transfer target Samuel Chukwueze wants guaranteed playing time in order to quit Villarreal for Anfield.

Chukwueze has enjoyed a superb breakout season under Javier Calleja at the Estadio de la Ceramica, leading to talk of the forward making a big-money summer move.

Jurgen Klopp, who is preparing his side for Saturday night’s Champions League final, is said to have targeted the 20-year-old as a replacement for Xherdan Shaqiri at Anfield – with the Swiss star failing to fully convince in his limited opportunities with the Reds.

Barcelona and Bayern Munich have also been reported as potential destinations for the Nigeria international, but Chukwueze wants guarantees that wherever he ends up he will get significant playing time.

“I don’t want to rush to join any club, but if I were to leave, it must be the right club who are ready to give me playing time,” Chukwueze said.
