Manchester United are ready to undergo a huge squad overhaul this summer, while Spurs have made their decision on a key defensive target, according to Thursday’s papers.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly been handed a £250million budget in the hopes of overhauling the Manchester United squad this summer.

According to a report in the Daily Mirror, the Norwegian has told the United board that he needs to make at least four signings this summer if he is to raise the current level.

The Red Devils were dumped out of the Champions League on Tuesday night at the hands of Barcelona, and with a top four finish in the league this season far from certain, talk of an overhaul is rife.

The report claims that Solskjaer ‘had identified key areas of his squad that need addressing before the Barca debacle’ and that Ed Woodward is ready to back the new boss.

Four players are named by the Mirror as being on Solskjaer’s shortlist, namely England trio Jadon Sancho, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Aaron Wan-Bissaka plus Ajax’s Matthijs De Ligt.

Meanwhile Antonio Valencia, Matteo Darmian, Marcos Rojo, Ander Herrera, Juan Mata and Alexis Sanchez have all been told that they can leave this summer, which will free up a substantial amount from the wage budget.
