Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has turned his attention towards a Burnley star, while Everton could rescue a defender from his Manchester United nightmare, according to Sunday’s newspapers.
KLOPP WANTS POPE AT ANFIELD
Liverpool are set to bid £15million for Burnley and England keeper Nick Pope, according to reports on Sunday.
The report in the Sun on Sunday claims Jurgen Klopp has decided that the Clarets stopper would make the ideal new goalkeeping option for the Reds – and would come at a significantly lesser fee than the £63million Roma are demanding for Alisson.
Pope – who was second choice at Burnley to Tom Heaton last year, but is now off to the World Cup – has two years left on his Clarets deal and sources close to the paper reckon he could be lured away for around £15million.
But in this day and age that seems ridiculously cheap and Burnley are likely to knock the offer back – especially as Heaton has only recently returned to action following a long-term shoulder problem.
