Liverpool are hoping to resurrect a deal to sign a £53m midfielder, while David de Gea is a target for Real Madrid once again, according to Wednesday’s papers.
HOPE NOT LOST FOR LIVERPOOL IN FEKIR PURSUIT
Liverpool could still complete the signing of Lyon star Nabil Fekir, but all reportedly rests on the Ligue 1 club’s president Jean-Michel Aulas.
Fekir looked destined to become Liverpool’s next summer signing following the arrival of Fabinho only for the deal to fall through last week.
It is even reported that the France international had picked his squad number and was interviewed by Liverpool’s official website ahead of the move.
The Daily Mirror claims on Wednesday however that the move could still happen, though it would require Aulas to make a dramatic U-turn.
The ball is now in Lyon’s court, the report claims, and a new fee would have to be agreed between the clubs due to Liverpool’s concern over Fekir’s existing knee injury.
