Paper Talk: Liverpool line up £35m double Prem swoop

Callum Wilson: Another serious injury

Liverpool have been linked with a £35million double swoop on the Premier League and Jurgen Klopp is tracking a youthful USA international.

LIVERPOOL TRACK USA STARLET

Liverpool are tracking Borussia Dortmund’s 17-year-old midfielder Christian Pulisic, according to the Daily Mail.

Jurgen Klopp has “personally instructed his scouts” to monitor the starlet who was recently handed his international debut by USA coach Jurgen Klinsmann.

Just what the Mail is getting at with the ‘personal’ line is questionable, but the report does go on to say that “the Reds are unlikely to move for the teen”.

So basically Klopp is tracking a young player he knows from his time at Dortmund.

Pulisic, from Pennsylvania, does look to be a talent though and he is very highly thought of in the US and in Germany after breaking into the Dortmund first team this season, making 10 appearances in total for the German club.

And Klopp is believed to have put Pulisic on Liverpool’s long-term radar as ‘one to watch’.

The Mail claims “another season of development at Dortmund next year could prompt the Merseysiders into a move”.

LIVERPOOL LOOK TO ‘FUTURE’ WITH £35M DOUBLE SWOOP

Liverpool will launch a £35million bid to sign Callum Wilson and Aaron Cresswell, according to a Sun exclusive.

The piece by Charlie Wyett has a time stamp of “22:30, 21 Apr 2016”, which in itself is pretty impressive and if the tabloid has managed to see into the future, then they might well be on to something big. This is questionable though.

They report Jurgen Klopp is chasing the Premier League pair, but the piece has little other detail other than that Bournemouth striker Wilson would cost £20m and West Ham defender Cresswell would be priced at £15m.

Wilson, 24, scored five goals in six league games before he picked up a serious knee injury at the start of the season, but he is now back in action “alerting a number of top clubs”.

Liverpool “also want a left-back and Cresswell, 26, has played consistently well this term” the Sun goes on to inform us.

It’s hardly an ‘exclusive’ of convincing proportions, rather a Liverpool link to two good Premier League players.
