Paper Talk: Atletico want Griezmann-Aguero swap; Arsenal eye Diallo

Atletico Madrid are keen to strike a swap deal with Manchester City involving Sergio Aguero and Antoine Griezmann, while Arsenal are chasing a Brazilian midfield starlet, according to Thursday’s papers.

Manchester City are reportedly being tipped to strike a deal with Atletico Madrid to swap Argentina striker Sergio Aguero for France forward Antoine Griezmann next summer.

Aguero, who moved to The Etihad back in 2011, became the club’s record goalscorer earlier this season and looks likely to win his third Premier League title with the club.

However, Atletico are said to be keen on bringing Aguero back to the club where he spent five years before moving to the Premier League for £38million.

The Spanish giants want to pair Aguero with Diego Costa, having become resigned to the fact that Griezmann can move on at the end of the season.

The France forward, who has been strongly linked with a move to Manchester United for some time, has an £85million buy-out clause, while City are said to value Aguero at around £60m.

A source in The Sun said: “Atletico have contacted Sergio’s representatives to see if there is any chance of getting him back.

“Pep doesn’t want him to go, but has been looking at bringing in Antoine Griezmann, so there could be something there.

“Pep is a massive fan of him and his clause at the end of the season is a bargain for a player of his quality.

“City have made discreet enquiries over Griezmann in the past, so there is the interest from both sides.”

Griezmann is said to have come close to joining United last summer but decided to stay in Spain after Atletico were slapped with a transfer ban, while he is said to want wages of around £400,000-a-week.
