Manchester United have given Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reassurance over his summer funds, while Bayern Munich are back on the tail of a Chelsea star, according to Wednesday’s papers.

WOODWARD GIVES SOLSKJAER BIG ASSURANCES

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been promised a marquee £100m signing this summer, while he could even reportedly be handed a £330m budget.

United boss Ole Gunner Solskjaer is ready to oversee a major overhaul of his squad at the end of the season, after the Red Devils missed out on Champions League football following their draw at Huddersfield on Sunday.

Defence is believed to be a major area that Solskjaer is looking to upgrade, with several top names mentioned as targets, which most recently included Leicester’s Harry Maguire.

According to the Daily Star, the Norwegian has been promised a bumper budget to help get the wheels in motion.

They state that Solskjaer will have £100m to spend on a big-name addition and £50m to spend on other targets, while that overall figure could rise to £330m should Paul Pogba and David De Gea depart.

Zinedine Zidane reportedly wants to bring his compatriot Pogba to Real Madrid, while De Gea’s recent poor form has seen his long-term future at the club called into jeopardy.
