Manchester United have been given a huge lift in their chase for a PSG right-back, while Chelsea are ready to make a move for a Lille midfielder, according to Thursday’s papers.
MAN UTD HANDED HUGE MEUNIER BOOST
Manchester United have reportedly been handed a potential boost in their Thomas Meunier transfer pursuit, as Paris Saint-Germain chase £55m in sales to comply with Financial Fair Play.
A report in The Sun claims that Meunier is up for a quick-fire sale, along with Arsenal target Christopher Nkunku.
The right-back has been targeted by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in a bid to strengthen his defence this summer, with Antonio Valencia moving on at the end of the season and Ashley Young in the latter stages of his career.
The Red Devils have also been looking at Crystal Palace star Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Tottenham defender Kieran Trippier, but it would appear that Meunier is now the number one target.
The 27-year-old Belgium international can also play at left-back or as an emergency central midfielder, but has had to battle Dani Alves and Timo Kehrer for a spot in Thomas Tuchel’s PSG side this season.
And the report goes on to state that Meunier could feel the time is right to leave, with veteran Alves in line for a contract extension at the Parc des Princes.
