Paper Talk: Man Utd close on £60m duo; Arsenal eye City target

Manchester United are already closing in on deals for two arrivals this summer, while Liverpool are plotting a surprise move for a rejuvenated Arsenal star, according to Sunday’s newspapers.

MAN UTD MAKE PLANS TO SIGN UP DUO

Manchester United are in advanced talks to sign winger Justin Kluivert from Ajax in the summer, according to reports.

The Sunday Mirror claims Mourinho sees the 18-year-old son of former Dutch striker Patrick as a really good investment, given he knows the player personally since the Portuguese coach’s days as Barcelona coach.

The paper reckons a £10million deal in already well down the line, though the package would be come with many incentives and could end up costing the club £25million dependent on how the teenager does at Old Trafford.

Mourinho has a good relationship with the player’s father Patrick and it’s suggested he has convinced Kluivert snr that a move to Manchester United would be a logical next step for his son.

Ajax want to keep Kluivert, but would not stand in his way if Man Utd come calling so have reluctantly opened talks over a summer deal.

Meanwhile, United are plotting a summer swoop for Bayern Munich’s Arturo Vidal, according to the Mail on Sunday. The paper claims Mourinho is frustrated by his lack of options in the centre of the pitch and is confident of luring the Chilean to Old Trafford in a deal that would set the club back around £50million.
