Paper Talk: Man Utd rival Chelsea, Spurs for £40m Watford striker

Manchester United will rival Chelsea, Everton and Spurs for an in-demand Watford star, five sides want Anthony Martial, while there’s some bad news for Henrikh Mkhitaryan, according to Wednesday’s newspapers.

TRANSFER SCRAMBLE ON FOR WATFORD FORWARD

Manchester United, Chelsea and Everton are all monitoring Watford’s Brazilian forward Richarlison, according to reports on Wednesday.

The 20-year-old forward has caught the eye during his first season in the Premier League and it seems the Hornets will have a real fight on their hands keeping their star talent away from Premier League predators this summer.

Tottenham had already been mentioned as strong suitors for the former Fluminense star, who joined the Hornets last summer in a bargain £11.2million deal.

However, the Daily Star, via Sky Sports, claims the player is now being tracked by United, Chelsea and Everton too, with interest in the player seeing his value rocket.

Richarlison penned a five-year deal with Watford when he joined, meaning he is still tied down at Vicarage Road until 2021. However, the reports claims an offer of £40million could tempt them to sell and cash in on the young forward.

FELLAINI NOT ON LIVERPOOL’S RADAR – BUT PSG REMAIN KEEN

Liverpool are not interested in signing 29-year-old midfielder Marouane Fellaini from Manchester United, according to a report.

The big Belgian tree is in the final months of his contract at Old Trafford and having shown no signs of signing an extension, looks poised to leave on a free transfer.

Fellaini has been linked with a number of European clubs, but was surprisingly touted as a Liverpool target in Monday’s newspapers, with a report suggesting Jurgen Klopp’s side were preparing a three-year deal for the former Everton man.

However, the Daily Mail, citing a report in the Liverpool Echo, claim there is absolutely no interest from Liverpool in Fellaini and that a move to the continent looks far more likely.

Roma, Monaco, Galatasaray and Besiktas all remain keen on the midfielder, but the Mail claims it is PSG, who lead the chase for the Belgium international, with the Ligue 1 giants preparing a two-year deal, with the option of a third year, to the player.

Fellaini missed United’s derby win at Manchester City as he recovers from a muscle injury but is expected to resume training this week ahead of Sunday’s game with West Brom.
