Manchester United will battle Liverpool for a Chelsea starlet, while Spurs are monitoring two players ahead of a possible summer raid, according to Sunday’s papers.

UNITED JOIN RACE FOR CHELSEA STARLET

Manchester United have joined Liverpool in the race to sign talented teenager Callum Hudson-Odoi, according to a report.

The 18-year-old made his debut for England on Friday night as a second-half substitute against the Czech Republic and played a key role in the fifth goal of a 5-0 win to further his credentials as a top star in the making. You can read our Player Ratings from the game, here.

Liverpool are supposedly back in the hunt for the teenager, with doubts over the long-term future of their own star Sadio Mane.

Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich are also apparently in for Hudson-Odoi while Chelsea have accepted they may be left with little choice but to cash in on the star this summer, but the Daily Mail reported on Saturday that the Blues will categorically refuse to sell him to Liverpool.

A bid of £30m is expected from Bayern in the summer but United will rival them according to the Mail on Sunday, who suggest that the England forward will be in demand this summer,

“If you look at number of appearances, he has actually been on the field quite a lot,” Southgate said.

“And I know from when we were talking with the club earlier in the season how much faith Maurizio has in him. He has got some outstanding players just in front of him but he’s slowly getting more and more game time.

“So, I think he’s maturing well. There doesn’t need to be a rush for him. We’ve seen that with Marcus Rashford and his development.

“He’s getting first-team football and that’s important. For us, I think his progress is good.”
