Thierry Henry has agreed to take over at a Championship club, Liverpool are set to offload as many as 10 players and Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri wants a right-back to follow him to Chelsea, all in the papers.
HENRY IN AT VILLA
Thierry Henry has agreed to become Aston Villa’s new manager, according to an exclusive in the Daily Star.
The tabloid claims Villa’s new majority shareholders Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens are “unconvinced” Steve Bruce “is the right man to take the Villans back to the Premier League”.
And Henry, who has relinquished his media role with Sky Sports is ready to take over from 57-year-old Bruce.
Henry, 40, was Roberto Martinez’s assistant as Belgium reached the semi-finals of the World Cup in Russia, but he has signalled his intention to become a manager in his own right.
The Star quote a source, who is “close to the takeover negotiations” and suggest Henry has “verbally agreed” to be Villa’s new boss.
