Paper Talk: Tottenham line up incredible £110m double deal

Nicolo Zaniolo, Alex Telles TEAMtalk

Tottenham are set to end their long transfer wait with an exciting £110m double swoop, while Wolves could seriously upset Newcastle by moving for a striker, according to Sunday’s newspapers.

TOTTENHAM READY HUGE OUTLAY FOR STAR DUO

Tottenham are ready to end their long transfer wait by swooping for two of European football’s brightest prospects.

According to the Mail on Sunday, the Champions League finalists are ready to move in for Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele and Roma prospect Nicolo Zaniolo during the summer window.

France midfielder Ndombele is rated in the €100m (£87m) bracket by Lyon, but Tottenham believe they can talk Lyon into selling for a fee of around £70m – which would still represent a club-record windfall for the Ligue 1 giants.

Ndombele has caught the eye this season with some brilliant performances in midfield, his form seeing him linked with Juventus, Manchester United and PSG among others.

The same paper also claims Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino also likes the look of Roma playmaker Zaniolo, who would cost around £40m. While the youngster has struggled to replicate his fine early season form, Pochettino has seen enough to believe the young Italian would prosper in the Premier League.

Spurs will have gone 18 months without signing a player by the time the summer transfer window opens, with Lucas Moura – in January 2018 – the last new player brought in by the club.

But a £110m double raid for two of Europe’s star men would certainly mark the end of that drought in some style.
