Paper Talk: Tottenham plan ambitious double raid

Moussa Dembele

Moussa Dembele is on Tottenham’s wanted list, while a Barcelona defender is also being chased by Jose Mourinho, while Chelsea lead the race to sign Thomas Lemar, all in the papers.

SPURS TRACK DEMBELE, SEMEDO

Former Celtic striker Moussa Dembele is believed to be on Jose Mourinho’s radar, as he looks for a replacement for Harry Kane.

Goal report that Spurs are “looking into the possibility of signing” the 23-year-old Lyon forward with Kane sidelined until April at the earliest after undergoing surgery to repair a ruptured tendon in his left hamstring.

Dembele has been one of the few plus points for Lyon this season, with the French side struggling in mid-table. He has netted 10 times in the league and is bang in form having scored twice last weekend in Lyon’s 7-0 Coupe de France thrashing of Bourg-Peronnas before scoring against Brest in the Coupe de Ligue on Wednesday.

There’s very little detail on Spurs’ plan, but it’s thought Jose Mourinho will look to grab Dembele on loan, although Lyon will surely not be happy with loaning their star man, especially with their struggles in the league.

Yesterday journalist Ian McGarry claimed Chelsea had verbally agreed a deal with Dembele.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror claim Barcelona defender Nelson Semedo is also the subject of interest from Tottenham.

With Barcelona currently in the process of trying to sign Real Betis full-back Emerson, Semedo, 26, could be available and Mourinho is apparently keen.

Kyle Walker-Peters is on the verge of a loan move to Crystal Palace, meaning Spurs need cover at full-back.
