Paper Talk: Tottenham ready to offer star to Everton in swap deal

Tottenham are ready to offer a long-serving star in their bid to land an Everton defender, while Leicester star James Maddison has a message for his suitors, according to Friday’s papers.

TOTTENHAM READY TO OFFER STAR AS PART OF DIGNE DEAL

Tottenham are reportedly considering giving Danny Rose to Everton, along with a transfer fee, to land left-back target Lucas Digne.

Mauricio Pochettino is said to be a big fan of the France international, who was named as Everton’s Player of the Year in his first season in English football.

The 25-year-old scored four goals and laid on a further four assists as the Toffees finished eighth in the Premier League under Marco Silva, and that form made Pochettino sit up and take notice.

And according to a report in the Daily Mail, Spurs are ready to test Everton’s resolve by offering Rose as part of a deal for the player who cost the Merseysiders £18m when he joined from Barcelona last summer.

Rose had been a target for the Toffees before they brought in Digne, but while his stock has fallen a little – the Frenchman’s is very much on the rise and the report goes on to add that Tottenham will also have to part with some cash to get their man.
