Paper Talk: Liverpool line up Jamal Lewis alternative; Leeds hunt winger

Kostas Tsimikas TEAMtalk

Liverpool could move for a Greek defender after seeing a £10m bid for Jamal Lewis fail, while Leeds want a Liverpool midfielder and Spurs are chasing Callum Wilson, all in the papers.

LIVERPOOL’S PLAN B

Liverpool have a definitive Plan B if they fail to agree a move for Norwich left-back Jamal Lewis.

Jurgen Klopp has seen a £10m bid for Lewis turned down, according to several reliable sources, including The Athletic.

Liverpool’s offer is believed to have included a “substantial sell-on clause” for the Northern Ireland international.

However, Norwich want £20m for the 22-year-old and are believed to be keen on a straight cash offer.

That could leave Michael Edwards and Klopp looking elsewhere and, according to Greek outlet Sportime, Liverpool have already got their eye on Kostas Tsimikas.

The Olympiacos full-back played in Thursday’s Europa League defeat at Wolves and starred in the win against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

Liverpool’s recruitment team have been tracking the 24-year-old for some time and they could make a move for the player if they cannot agree a deal for Lewis.
