Alexandre Pato: Happy to make Chelsea his 'new home'

Corinthians president Robero de Andrade has been quoted as saying Liverpool have “an agreement in principle” to sign Alexandre Pato.

Pato has been linked with several Premier League clubs over the past six months, including Manchester United, Tottenham and West Ham, but De Andrade was quoted on Saturday as saying the 26-year-old is on the verge of concluding a move to Anfield.

“There is an agreement in principle with Liverpool for the transfer in the coming weeks,” De Andrade is said to have told Tutto Mercato Web.

“Pato had long expressed a desire to return to Europe.

“Liverpool await, there are a few missing details, but Klopp will have a new reinforcement and for Pato the Premier League will be a new springboard.”

However, De Andrade told that there have been no negotiations with Liverpool before adding on SporTV: “Corinthians have received nothing. Nothing concrete has arrived.”

Pato joined Corinthians in 2013 from AC Milan, where he scored 63 goals in 150 appearances, but has been on loan at Sao Paolo since last year.

Pato has also scored 10 goals in 25 appearances for Brazil but has not represented the national side since 2013.
