Permanent Man Utd exit explodes into life with Tottenham to be thwarted by Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest have been cleared to ramp up a move for a wantaway Man Utd star who’s also courting interest from Tottenham, per reports.
Nottingham Forest secured their Premier League status on Saturday when shocking Arsenal at the City Ground. The 1-0 scoreline also ended their opponent’s title aspirations, with Man City crowned champions of England when the full time whistle blew.
Forest can now safely turn their attention to the transfer market, with hopes high a successful summer window can help avoid another relegation scrap next term.
On that front, the Telegraph bring news of a permanent move for Man Utd goalkeeper, Dean Henderson, taking shape.
The 26-year-old is currently on loan at Forest, though is sidelined after undergoing thigh surgery in early May.
Keylor Navas (on loan from PSG) has deputised between the sticks in Henderson’s absence. However, per the Telegraph, it’s Henderson and not Navas who Forest intend to sign at season’s end.
Indeed, the newspaper state ‘Forest will pursue a permanent deal for Manchester United goalkeeper Henderson’.
From the player’s perspective, such a move would be welcome, with Henderson deemed ‘keen to sign’.
Henderson harbours ambitions of breaking into England’s squad for Euro 2024, per Football Insider. To do so he must leave Man Utd who look set to hand David de Gea a new contract.
At 26, the time for more loan spells has come and gone and a permanent move would make the most sense. The Manchester Evening News previously claimed United would listen to offers in the region of £30m.
Such an outlay obviously hinged on Forest being a Premier League club. Now they’ve avoided relegation to the Championship they are free to accelerate the move.
Henderson is also a player of interest at Tottenham who will move on from the rapidly declining Hugo Lloris.
However, Henderson is just one of many goalkeepers on Tottenham’s radar. Andre Onana and David Raya are others, while David Ornstein brought news of their admiration of Valencia ace Giorgi Mamardashvili.
In any case, Nottingham Forest may take Henderson off the market in short order and now have a clear path to complete a move the stopper is also keen to make.
