Joe Williams

Huddersfield Town: Keeping up momentum

Pablo Hernandez and Rob Green shone for Leeds United in a 2-1 loss to Huddersfield, while Aaron Mooy and Izzy Brown had great games for the Terriers.

Huddersfield Town

Danny Ward: Made a couple of decent saves. 6

Tommy Smith: Put in a lovely low cross for Izzy Brown’s opener. Did his job at the back. 8

Jonathan Hogg: Excellent positioning to keep Leeds at bay. 7

Elias Kachunga: Livewire. Played a number of dangerous balls into the box, including one that flashed across the face of goal. 8

Aaron Mooy: Offered good energy in the middle of the park.  8

Chris Lowe: Got up and down the wing all game. 7

Rajiv Van La Parra: Got into a number of good positions but wasted chances to put quality balls into the box. 6

Collin Quaner: Missed a couple of fantastic chances with one blocked excellently by Rob Green. 7

Christopher Schindler: Neat and tidy at the back. 7

Michael Hefele: Solid performance at the back. Headed narrowly wide in the first half but made amends with a goal at the death. 8

Kasey Palmer: Went off injured before the half hour mark. Not too much to note. 6

Substitutes:

Izzy Brown (replaced Palmer 25′) Arrived late in the box to put away a good finish in the first-half. Energetic performance. 8

Joe Lolley (replaced Van La Parra 64′) Injected more energy into Huddersfield. 7

Nakhi Wells (replaced Quaner 64′) Didn’t get any chances. Booked. 6

Leeds United

Rob Green String of good first-half saves with a particularly impressive one from Collin Quaner. 8

Luke Ayling: Did his job at the back but didn’t offer enough going forward. 6

Kyle Bartley: Lucky to clear just over his own crossbar in the second half. Leeds’ best defender and has noticeably forged a great understanding with Jansson. But, played Hefele onside for the goal. 7

Pontus Jansson: His usual composed, tough-tackling self. However, one slack bit of defending saw his clearance hit a striker and go just over the bar.  7

Gaetano Berardi: A wholehearted display from the Swiss. Put in several good tackles. 6

Liam Bridcutt: Wanted to make it a proper derby! Flying into tackles all over the pitch and broke up play well. 7

Ronaldo Vieira: Tried to penetrate the Huddersfield defence on a number of occasions with some classy balls. Always available and rarely lost possession. 8

Stuart Dallas: Offered lots of threat out wide for Leeds. His good balls into the box weren’t converted. 6

Pablo Hernandez: Won fouls in good positions with his lively display. Great ball into the box for Wood to tap home. 8

Souleymane Doukara: Floated in and out of the game. Largely ineffective. 6

Chris Wood: Scored an easy tap in but has a wonderful knack of being in the right place at the right time. 7

Substitutes:

Alfonso Pedraza (replaced Doukara 62′) Forced Ward into a good save from his long-range shot shortly after coming on. 6

Mo Barrow (replaced Dallas 76′) Couldn’t affect the match. 5

Eunan O’Kane (replaced Hernandez 82′) Didn’t have much of the ball. 5
